Hollerado storms the Live 105.3 Live Hive for an Acoustic Set

In a happy coincidence last week, I managed to accidentally call in to Live 105 at the right time to win a pair of passes into the Live Hive to see Manotick’s own Hollerado (at least one of the four of us [me]) is a fan of their pop-rock sound.  The band struck me as a very jovial bunch of guys who were just really embarking on the early days of their career (Halifax marked the last date on the Billy Talent Dead Silence tour).  Where it was an acoustic set and interview, there wasn’t much for Jake 1 (replaced here by an old school boombox dubbed affectionately Jake 2) or Dean to do, so they milled about and watched from the sidelines.  The lads treated the modest crowd to a three song acoustic set in preparation for their opening slot later in the evening at the Cunard Center.  All in all it was a fun time, Live 105 has a sweet space set up complete with Bar and Lazy Boy recliners and makes for an intimate venue to see your favorite acts.  I’d love to see Hollerado back in these parts soon playing their own show, and if you haven’t already pick up their sophomore effort White Paint

Attached are a few of the shots I took while enjoying the tunes.
