Trapt, Only Through the Pain, Eleven Seven

When Trapt’s eponymous debut dropped a mere 5 years ago, the California 4-piece showed a great deal of promise with their brand of crunchy radio-friendly rock. Since then, the band has gone on to release their sophomore disc Someone in Control in 2005 and their latest effort Only Through the Pain earlier this year. Unfortunately, everything beyond that promising debut album has failed to connect with audiences and while their 3rd studio effort is heading back towards the overwrought vocals and crunchy guitars which brought them early success, however while the recipe is similar, the result is wholly generic. You can hit play and walk away, while this album fades into the wallpaper.
