The 69 Eyes, Angels, Virgin Music

The 69 Eyes owe a great deal of thanks to Bam Margera for the public awareness that he bestowed upon the Finnish band showcasing the band on his television show VivaLaBam. The band has recently released their latest effort Angels. While their sound blendselementsofpunk, metal, goth and anthemic arena rock, it is as hypnotic as it is strange. The album art definitely alludes to much more menacing sound, however it can be best described as HIM meets Alice Cooper (with elements of both Rob Zombie and Billy Idol). Once you’ve pressed the play button, you surprisingly won’t be leaping to slap the stop button. While it gives a menacing air, its bark is worse than its bite, it’s an enjoyable listen and you’ll find that the tracks will lodge themselves in your head for the duration of the day.
