100 Miles from Memphis is a return of sorts for Sheryl Crow, as it allows her to return to the soul genre that inspired her close to twenty year career. During that time, she has released a handful of studio albums and with each new release the authenticitythatshewowed audiences with on Tuesday Night Music Club managed to ebb away. Ultimately her music faded into the background of commercial pop radio. 100 Miles from Memphis is return to form for Crow as she shows that she has found a way to escape the pop trappings and demonstrates that she is still a viable artist
