Katy Perry, MTV Unplugged, EMI, Capitol

MTV Unplugged was recently dusted off and started showcasing modern pop and rock acts again. They have certainly chosen an eclectic list which includes one Miss Katy Perry. It is always refreshing to watch a pop artist such as Perry try to reshape theirmaterialtofit an acoustic format. Tracks such as “I Kissed a Girl” and “Waking up In Vegas” strip down just fine however on a track such as her cover of Fountain of Wayne’s “Hackensack” her performance shines as Ms. Perry show off a little stylistic range. As annoying as she can be, she can be equally engaging. Don’t believe me, check the included DVD.
