The Return of Carbon Arc Cinema

The sun is starting to return, every day a minute longer, but we’re still in the midst of a typically chilly Canadian winter. What better time to see a few great international films and documentaries, right?

Last fall I was helping out at Carbon Arc, Halifax’s only dedicated repertory screening series. I’m back with them again, this time with a new title: Writer-in-Residence. I’ll be blogging on the Carbon Arc site about the films showing there, helping to engage the community of filmgoers and extend the conversation about what’s being screened. You can see my first post at the website here.

If I have something new up on Carbon Arc, I’ll be sure to link to it here. And I hope you’ll come and see the new films on Friday (and occasional Saturday) nights. You can see the schedule for the first half of the winter season, until the beginning of March, here.

This Friday, February 5, at 7pm is the screening of the documentary Hitchcock/Truffaut, followed by a live recording of my podcast, Lens Me Your Ears, co-hosted with Stephen Cooke, discussing the film and Hitchcock’s work in general.
